What to expect?

  • A safe space to share your emotions & fears

  • Targeted relief from pregnancy discomfort: back & hip pain, swelling

  • Deep relaxation

  • Reduced stress & anxiety

  • Time to connect with your baby

  • Learn movements and stretches to support your pregnancy and delivery

Each session starts with an intake to understand at best your current situation and needs.

A Shiatsu massage is given on a clothed body. The treatment takes place  on a futon ( japanese mat) and uses  pillows that support the body in an adequate manner.

The cost of a shiatsu treatment is often partially refunded by health insurers in their extras packages.

Mission

Traditional Chinese medicine views pregnancy as a major transition and gateway moment in life. Many changes occur in a short period of time, which can be unsettling on both a physical and emotional level.

Shiatsu pregnancy massage accompanies parents through this fundamental life transition. I listen and support parents, and invite them to share the emotions, fears and changes that appear in the body

Since becoming pregnant, I have experienced the healing power of Shiatsu in pregnancy personally. After a session, I feel a sense of  peace, safety and deeper connection with myself and the baby. The body listens, adapts and tensions tend to disappear.

Receiving a shiatsu pregnancy massage is also a way to gain understanding of your own body-mind relationship and play with it. Therefore, before or after each massage, I will show you a short breathing exercise or self massage, to help bring the benefits of Shiatsu into your daily life

Before Pregnancy

In addition to getting the right nutrition and medical advice, Shiatsu prepares your body for carrying life, supporting regulation of hormones and emotions. It can also be of great help for people starting IVF and would like to be supported in this process.

During pregnancy

During pregnancy the body is in a constant state of adaptation and change. The mind also needs space and time to evolve and process this life transition.

This occasionally creates tensions that can be exhausting:

  • nausea

  • gastric reflux

  • rib cage pain

  • joint pain

  • back pain

  • water retention

  • anxiety

  • sleeping issues.

Shiatsu supports all stages of pregnancy.

After Pregnancy

You are welcoming a new personality into your family, which brings joy and requires everyone to adjust and find a new balance. While giving birth and breastfeeding are deeply rewarding experiences, they can also be physically, emotionally and mentally demanding.

Receiving a Shiatsu postpartum massage is an excellent way to reconnect with your body and find gentle relaxation when you need it most.

You are welcome to bring your baby to the session if needed. In that case, I offer a longer session including advices on baby massage techniques as well.
